FAQ

Q: How long have you been flint knapping for?

A: I started flint knapping in 2020 as a COVID hobby. Since then it's become an obsession and I've been perfecting my craft ever since.

Q: Where do you get your materials from?

A: I source material from all over the world, Armenia, Australia, Madagascar and Mexico to name a few. I'm very lucky that Oregon is very rich in excellent knapping material such as obsidian, agate and jasper.

Q: What is your process for making arrowheads and other items?

A: I generally let the rock tell me what it wants to become. Hidden cracks and inclusions can quickly change what I initially planned, but.I start with a specific point in mind, then adjust to something else if needed.

Q: How do I purchase from you?

A: In the "Contact" section on the website there is a form you can fill out to message me. Send me the item number and I'll give you more information on how to order.

Q: Can I request specific projects?

A: You can request specific types of rock. Matching rock perfectly is almost impossible though, since each rock will have its own variations in color and pattern.

Q: What is your turnaround time?

A: Turnaround times on requests can vary. If I have the rock in stock and the point type is a common design, I can generally have those ready within a week. If I need to locate and order a specific type of rock, or if the point type is difficult, it could take up to a month.
